Romania is the leading wheat exporter with 3.38 million tons, followed by Lithuania (1.78 million tons), Latvia (1.57 million tons), Germany (1.38 million tons), France (1.35 million tons), and Poland (1.05 million tons). The largest buyers are Nigeria (1.91 million tons), Morocco (1.33 million tons), the UK (0.937 million tons), Algeria (0.827 million tons), and Egypt (0.82 million tons).

Over 90% of Ukraine’s soymeal exports are directed to the EU. In December 2024, shipments reached a record 102,000 tons, and another 105,000 tons are expected for January 2025. The largest buyers are Poland and Hungary, accounting for over 60% of total exports.

During the period January 23 – 29, only 9,500 tons of milling wheat were exported from the French port of Rouen (11,400 tons the previous week), marking a very low level.

According to AAFC, Canada's wheat production in 2025 is projected to reach 35.025 million tons (34.958 million in 2024), while canola production is estimated at 17.5 million tons (17.845 million in 2024).

According to Sagras & Mercado, as of January 24, 2025, Brazil’s first corn harvest has been completed on 10.3% of the planted areas, including:

Rio Grande do Sul – 27.8%

Santa Catarina – 14.8%

Paraná – 3.7%

São Paulo – 9%
A year earlier, 8.4% of the area had been harvested, while the five-year average stands at 8.7%.

In February, temperatures in India are expected to be 5°C above normal, posing a serious challenge for new wheat and rapeseed crops. Over the past three years, these crops have faced significant production issues, leading the country to halt wheat exports and increase vegetable oil imports.

Palm oil futures in Malaysia have reached a two-week high due to a 14% decline in production between January 1 – 20.

Tunisia has purchased 100,000 tons of soft wheat at prices ranging from 260.77 – 263.55 USD/ton C&F and 100,000 tons of durum wheat at 340.28 – 347.89 USD/ton C&F.
