In Russia, 19.05 million hectares have been sown with winter crops (96.7% of the planned area). Winter wheat covers 17.5 million hectares (-3% compared to 2023).
Rusagrotrans forecasts wheat exports from Russia in November at 5 million tons (previous estimate: 4.6 million tons), with 2.5 million tons exported so far. Export prices for Russian milling wheat (12.5% protein) are at 226 USD/ton, with December delivery priced at 230 USD/ton. Prices for French wheat are 226 USD/ton FOB (-$12), German wheat at 238 USD/ton (-$12), and US wheat at 247 USD/ton (-$11).
Between July 1 and November 20, 2024, Ukraine exported 16.803 million tons of grain (12.033 million tons in the same period last year), including 2.404 million tons in November (2.793 million tons last year). Exports include 8.391 million tons of wheat (5.484), 1.765 million tons of barley (0.86), and 6.349 million tons of corn (5.559).
In October 2024, Moldova exported 7,600 tons of sunseed oil and imported 1,700 tons. The largest buyers were Romania, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
According to NOPA data, in October, the United States processed a record 5.44 million tons of soybeans (+0.6% from September and +5% from October 2023). Soyoil stocks in the US increased to 690,000 tons (+2% compared to October 2023). Soy processing since the start of the 2024/25 season has reached a record 10.8 million tons (+5%).
In 2024/25, Canada’s wheat production is projected at 34.293 million tons (+4% compared to 2023/24 and +8% above the five-year average). The soft wheat production is 28.26 million tons, and durum wheat is 6.033 million tons. Exports in the new season are expected to reach 25.4 million tons, including 20.6 million tons of soft wheat and 4.8 million tons of durum wheat.
According to Safras & Mercado, as of November 8, 2024, Brazilian farmers have sold 92.6% of their 2023/24 soybean production, which totaled 152.3 million tons (87.7% as of October 4, 2024, and 92.9% on average over the past five years). Sales of the 2024/25 soybean crop are at 28.2% of the expected production, which is projected at 171.8 million tons (24.8% and 33%, respectively). In the first four months of the season, Brazilian soybean deliveries to the EU reached 2.3 million tons (1.7 million tons a year earlier).
Safras & Mercado also reported that soybean and corn exports from Brazil surged in October and early November due to favorable export prices. The 2023/24 soybean crop is 92.6% sold, and the 2024/25 crop is 87.7% sold. Corn from the 2024/25 crop accounts for 28.2% of the expected 171.8 million tons (24.8% in early October and 33% on average over the past five years).
Jordan canceled a tender to purchase 120,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin. A new tender for 120,000 tons of wheat, with delivery scheduled for January–March, will take place on November 26, 2024.
Algeria purchased 40,000 tons of wheat from the U.S., with delivery scheduled for December 1–15.
