SovEcon raised their forecast for the grain production in Russia in 2022 to 152 million tons (151.4 in the previous estimate), including wheat production of 100.6 million tons (100).

In 2023, the wheat production is projected to reach 84.8 million tons, which is the first estimate for the next season. Areas with winter cereals will reach 18.8 million hectares (19.5 in 2021). Wheat areas (winter and spring wheat) will be 29.1 million hectares (-0.4).

- The new grain deal for Ukrainian exports will include guarantees related to the export of grain and fertilizers from Russia.

- Turkey proposes to extend the grain deal for a period of 3, 6 or 12 months.

- Over the week of October 10-16, corn imports into the EU reached 502,600 tons (457,400 a week earlier). 202,900 tons of production were delivered to Spain, 50,600 tons were imported in Italy, 49,700 tons in Ireland a and 45,900 tons in Hungary. Over the period of 01.07 - 16.10.2022, improts totaled 8.3 million tons (4.1). Brazil imported 4.65 million tons of corn (2.67) and Ukraine improted 3.1 million tons (857,000).

- According to Anec's forecast, 5.5 - 7.18 million tons of corn will be exported from Brazil in October (1.87 in October 2021). The export of soybeans will reach 2.5-3.7 million tons (2.99), and soymeal exports are expected at 2.04 million tons (1.34).

- The price of soybeans in China remains high due to reduced stocks. The process was caused by a delay in deliveries from the United States (problems along the Mississippi) by about 15-20 days for about 3 million tons of cargo.

- India exported 163,090 tons of rapeseed meal in September, down 29% from August, according to SEA data. Total oil meal exports were 240,670 tons (-15% compared to August and +71% compared to September 2021). During the period of 01.04 - 30.09.2022, the export of oil meal from India was 1.8 million tons (+39%), including rapeseed meal exports of 1.2 million tons.

- Iraq will hold a tender for the purchase of at least 50,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin, but excluding Russia.
