Turkey has increased the fees for transporting goods through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles five times. For years, the fee has been 0.8 USD/ton, and from 07.10.2022 it will be 4 USD/ton.

- ProZerno expects a sunseed production in Russia of 16.8 million tons (+7% compared to 2021), which will be a new record for the country. The soybean production is projected to reach 5.5 million tons, and rapeseed production is expected at 4 million tons.

- As of August 25, 2022, 78.9 million tons of wheat were harvested in Russia (63.2 in 2021). The areas harvested with wheat totaled 18.7 million hectares and the average yield was 4.22 tons/hectare (3.09). Barley was harvested on 5.4 million hectares, with 17.7 million tons of grain harvested with an average yield of 3.26 tons/hectare (2.49). The total harvested areas reached 27.6 million hectares, a total of 105.2 million tons of grain were harvested with an average yield of 3.82 tons/hectare (2.8). The sowing campaign of winter crops was carried out on 927,500 hectares.

- Over the period of 1.07 - 29.08.2022, 3,621 million tons of cereals were exported from Ukraine (7,638 a year earlier), and from the beginning of August 1,921 million tons (4,601). From the beginning of the season, 981,000 tons of wheat were exported (605,000 in August), barley exports were 289,000 tons (140,000) and corn exports reached 2.334 million tons (1.167).

- The European Commission forecasts a corn production in the EU in 2022/23 of 59.3 million tons (-6.5 compared to the previous estimate and -13.4 compared to 2021/22). The barley production will reach 50.4 million tons (-1.1 and 52), and wheat production is estimated at 126 million tons (+2.1 and 130.1).

- According to data from FranceAgriMer, the new wheat productionin France has a protein content of less than 11%. Last year, only 5% of the production was below 11% protein.

This tax will directly affect domestic grain prices in Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Russia, because a huge part of these countries' exports are via sea routes.

- According to data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, as of 18/08/2022, in Argentina, the 2021/22 harvesting campaign of corn was completed, with 7.44 million hectares harvested and 52 million tons of grain harvested at an average yield of 6.99 tons/hectare (55 in 2020 /21). The sowing camaign of sunseed continues with 300,200 hectares already sown (2 million hectares planned and 1.7 in 2020/21).

- According to Oil World data, 721,000 tons of vegetable oils were imported into China in July, which is the maximum level for the last 7 months (1.05 million tons a year earlier). Palm oil supplies were 450,000 tons (+100%), sunflower oil 11,000 tons (49,000), which is the maximum level for the last 6 months, soybean oil 55,000 tons (194,000), rapeseed oil 67,000 tons (152,000). In the period January - July, oil deliveries were 3.61 million tons (8.18), incl. palm oil 1.73 million tons (3.57), rapeseed oil 0.61 million tons (1.65), sunflower oil 249,000 tons (976,000), soybean oil 184,000 tons (856,000).

- Over the period of September 1-15, the export tax on palm oil from Indonesia will increase to 124 USD/ton (74 now). In 2022, biodiesel production in Indonesia is expected to be 11.03 million kiloliters.

- Bangladeshi authorities plan to buy 500,000 tons of Russian wheat at a price of 430 USD/ton C&F, with the deal to be concluded this week.
