Today, July 05, 2021, Egypt bought 240,000 tons of wheat

Today, July 05, 2021, the Egyptian state-owned company GASC purchased 240,000 tons of wheat from Romania and Russia with delivery within September 1 - September 15, 2021.

240,000 tons of wheat were purchased, including 60,000 tons from Russia and 180,000 tons from Romania. At the previous tender, 180,000 tons of wheat were purchased from Romania. Romanian wheat is now the leader with the best FOB prices, but this time there was only one offer. Other FOB offers were highly competitive. An important role in the tender played the freight cost, which is much lower for Russian wheat than that for Romanian.

Tender results:

- 60,000 tons of Russian wheat at a price of FOB 240.00 USD/ton + freight 27.70 USD/ton, a total of 267.70 USD/ton C&F.

- 180,000 tons of Romanian wheat at a FOB price of 237.84 USD/ton + freight 32.70 USD/ton, a total of 270.54 USD/ton C&F.

Offers under FOB conditions:

- Eight offers for the sale of Romanian wheat at prices within 237.94 - 243.50 USD/ton.

- Five offers for the sale of Russian wheat at prices within 238.10 - 245.00 USD/ton.

- Five offers for the sale of Ukrainian wheat at prices within 239.45 - 246.00 USD/ton.
