Grain Highlights 07.09.2021

The National Energy Policy Council of Brazil has approved a reduction in the content of the biocomponent in biodiesel from 13% to 10% given the strong rise in the price of soyoil.

- As of September 7, 2021, 35.5 million hectares of cereals have been harvested in Russia, 95.1 million tons of grain have been harvested, including 68.8 million tons of wheat and 17.1 million tons of barley. 442,000 hectares of sunseed were harvested and 673,800 tons were harvested.

- In August, 5.5 million tons of grain were exported from Russia, which is nearly a record level.

- In 2020/21, 5.277 million tons of sunseed oil were exported from Ukraine, which is 98.1% of the amount set in the memorandum.

- According to data from the Chinese Customs Service, 9.49 million tons of soybeans were imported into the country in August (+9.5% in July and 9.6 million tons in August 2020).

- According to the forecast of the General Association of Wheat Producers in France, the wheat production will be 35.6 million tons in 2021, which is 23% more than the previous year.

- According to AgRural's forecast, the total corn production in Brazil will reach 81.9 million tons in 2021 (82.2 million tons in the previous estimate and -20 million tons compared to the previous season). The second corn production is projected at 55.6 million tonnes (75.1).

- According to ABARES forecast, the wheat production in Australia will be 32.63 million tons in 2021/22 compared to 27.8 million tons forecast in July. The indicator will be the second highest in the country's history. In 2020/21, the wheat production was 33.34 million tons. The barley production is expected to reach 12.5 million tons (+2.1 million tons compared to July) and the canola producton is estimated at 5.03 million tons (+0.8).

- Bangladesh will hold a tender for the purchase of 50,000 tons of milled wheat.
