Grain Highlights 10.11.2021

According to CEPEA, as of November 8, 2021, corn price in Brazil decreased by 1.4% to 257.33 USD/ton over the week. 

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 4,000 contracts of corn, 17,500 contracts of soybeans and 8,500 contracts of wheat.

- According to AgRural data, as of November 8, 2021, soybeans in Brazil have been sown on 67% of the planned areas (+15% for the week and 56% a year earlier). The sowing campaign of the first corn crop was carried out on 75% of the areas (+12% and 68%).

- According to CEPEA, as of November 8, 2021, corn price in Brazil decreased by 1.4% to 257.33 USD/ton over the week. Strong corn imports and increased domestic supply are the reason for the price drop. In October, corn imports in Brazil increased by 133% compared to October 2020. Over the period of January - October, corn imports totaled 2.14 million tons (1.37 years earlier). Over the short period of November 1 - 3, imports reached 122,150 tons compared to 209,300 tons for the whole November 2020. Over the same period, corn exports were 149,060 tons (236,360).

- The Egyptian state company GASC has canceled a tender for the purchase of 30,000 tons of soyoil and 10,000 tons of sunseed oil with delivery within January 5 - 25 2022 due to high prices.
