- The Government of Ukraine is not considering the possibility of restricting wheat exports. So far, 52% of the planned quantities for the whole season have been exported.
- According to data from Refinitiv, the export of French wheat outside the EU reached 973,300 tons in October, which is the highest level since 2014/15. The largest customers in October were China with 431,500 tons and Algeria with 193,400 tons. Barley exports were 288,100 tons in October. Total grain exports during the month reached 1.61 million tons.
- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 7,500 contracts of corn, 17,500 contracts of soybeans and 8,000 contracts of wheat.
- According to data from the Chinese customs service, the country imported 1.3 million tons of corn in October, which is 63% less than in September - 3.5 million tons. Barley imports were 1.3 million tons, wheat imports reached 480,000 tons and sorghum imports were 830,000 tons. Over the period of January - October, corn imports reached a total of 26.3 million tons (+236%), barley imports totaled 9.9 million tons (+66%), wheat imports add up to a total of 8.1 million tons (+21%) and sorghum imports reached 8.2 million tons (+103%).
- According to updated information, Algeria has purchased 800,000 tons of milling wheat from Russia, Argentina, Germany and Poland at prices within 382.50 - 384.00 USD/ton and delivery over the period of 16.12.2021 - 31.01.2022. Deliveries from Russia will be nearly 250,000 tons.
- Turkey has announced a tender for the purchase of 385,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin and delivery within January 13 - 31 2022.
- The Egyptian state company GASC purchased 12,000 tons of sunseed oil at a price of 1,425 USD/ton C&F and delivery within January 10-30 2022. 8,000 tons of soyoil were also purchased from the domestic market at a price of 1,377.7 USD/ton and delivery within January 1-20 2022 .
