According to FranceAgriMer data, as of October 21, 2024, 21% of winter wheat planting in France was completed (+11% over the week and 47% of the five-year average).

- In November, Russia's export tax on sunseed oil will be 2,891.1 rubles per ton. The duty had been zero for the past 17 months, but with rising prices, it has now increased. The export tax on sunseed meal will be 3,422.4 rubles per ton (up from 2,927.6 in October).

- Over the past week, 706,800 tons of wheat were exported from Russia's Novorossiysk port, including 128,900 tons to Yemen, 103,500 tons to Egypt, and 91,000 tons to Bangladesh. The previous week’s exports were 414,700 tons.

- In 2025/26, rapeseed production in Ukraine is expected to decrease by 20% compared to 2024/25. As of October 21, 2024, 1.05 million hectares have been sown (compared to 1.27 million last year). The optimal planting period has passed, and the area sown is 17% smaller. Europe's rapeseed balance remains tight, which supports prices.

- From the start of the season to October 28, 2024, Ukraine exported 13.801 million tons of grain (up from 8.904 million a year earlier), including 3.353 million tons in October (compared to 2.152 million). Wheat exports amounted to 7.566 million tons (4.477 million in 2023/24), barley exports were 1.685 million tons (0.679), and corn exports reached 4.274 million tons (3.626).

- In 2023/24, Kazakhstan's sunseed oil exports reached 443,700 tons, a 43% increase from the previous season. Major clients include Uzbekistan with 184,000 tons (125,000 in 2022/23), China with 164,000 tons (117,000), Tajikistan with 65,100 tons (51,600), Afghanistan with 16,900 tons (14,600), and Latvia with 6,100 tons.

- According to FranceAgriMer data, as of October 21, 2024, 21% of winter wheat planting in France was completed (+11% over the week and 47% of the five-year average). Winter barley planting reached 38% (64% of the five-year average), and corn harvesting campaign has been completed at 25% of the areas (69%). The weather forecast predicts warm, dry days ahead, which should accelerate these campaigns.

- In Argentina, soymeal production reached 3.027 million tons in September (up from 2.361 in August and 1.371 million tons in September 2023). In the first nine months of the year, production reached 22.72 million tons (up from 15.61). Rosario Grain Exchange forecasts a 44% increase in production for 2024, mainly due to a larger current-season crop.

- Malaysian authorities are raising the export duty on palm oil from 0% to 9.5% for November. The duty was initially set at 8% a week earlier. It had not been raised in the past three years.

- According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, grain production in Turkey is expected to be 39.2 million tons in 2024 (-7.1% compared to 2023), including wheat production of 20.8 million tons (-5.5%) and barley production of 8.2 million tons (-10.9%).

- Iran has purchased 144,000 tons of feed corn for delivery between November and January at a price of 302 USD/ton (C&F) from Brazil.
