- In 2023/24, Russia exported a record 70 million tons of grain, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture /60 million in 2022/23/. For 2024/25, the grain production is expected to reach 132 million tons with 60 million tons set for export.
- During the week of August 7 – 13, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 444.4 rubles/ton /906.4 the previous week/, while barley and corn will continue to have a zero duty.
- According to Rusagrotrans forecasts, wheat exports from Russia in August will be 4 – 4.5 million tons /5.4 in August 2023 and 4.9 average in recent years/. In July, 3.3 million tons of wheat were exported /4.17/.
- ProZerno forecasts a grain production in Russia in 2024 of 128 million tons, including 82.5 million tons of wheat, 17.2 million tons of barley, and 14.7 million tons of corn. In 2023, the grain production was 144.5 million tons, including 92.8 million tons of wheat.
- AKRA forecasts sunseed oil production in Russia in 2024/25 to be 7.75 – 7.8 million tons /+16-17% compared to 2023/24/. In 2023/24, the production was 6.7 million tons. The sunseed production might decrease by 6 – 8% compared to the previous season. Domestic consumption of sunseed oil is around 2.4 million tons.
- As of August 1, 2024, 4.786 million hectares have been harvested in Ukraine /55% of the planned area/ with 25.29 million tons of grain gathered at an average yield of 4.14 tons/hectare. Wheat harvested is 19.44 million tons /92% of the areas/, harvested barley reaches 4.82 million tons /93%/. Rapeseed has been harvested on 95% of the areas with 3.24 million tons gathered.
- According to FranceAgriMer data as of July 29, 2024, 50% of the soft wheat crops in France are in good and excellent condition – unchanged from the previous week. The expected production is 26 million tons, the lowest level since 1980.
- Recently, wheat crops in Argentina suffered from cold weather and ongoing drought. According to analysts from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, moderate rains in the coming days will help improve their condition. The country has sown 6.3 million hectares of wheat. Currently, 31% of the crops are in good and excellent condition, and 16% are in satisfactory and poor condition.
- In July, Malaysia exported 1.605 million tons of palm oil /+22.8% compared to June – 1.307/.
