As of the current date, Russia has harvested 122 million tons of grain in the new crop season (-16 million tons compared to 2022/23), including 86.2 million tons of wheat, 20.5 million tons of barley, and 1.9 million tons of corn.

From July 1 to September 27, 2023, Ukraine exported 6.339 million tons of grain (compared to 7.967 million tons the previous year), including 1.752 million tons in September (3.67 million tons the previous year). The exports include 3.115 million tons of wheat (1.09 million tons the previous year), 603,000 tons of barley (105,000 tons), and 2.599 million tons of corn (545,000 tons).

Yesterday, Chicago commodity funds in were net buyers of 500 wheat contracts, 1,500 soybean contracts, and net sellers of 2,000 corn contracts.

In 2023/24, grain production in India is expected to reach 332 million tons (+1.5% compared to 2022/23), including 161.2 million tons from the winter crop. Wheat production is projected to reach 114 million tons (+1.3%), oilseed production is estimated at 44 million tons (+3.1%), and pulse crop production is expected at 29.2 million tons (+1.7%).

Morocco will receive 60,000 tons of wheat from Russia, marking the first time since the beginning of 2022.

Algeria is looking to purchase 90,000 tons of feed corn (from Argentina or Brazil) and 30,000 tons of feed barley with unspecified origin.

Tunisia has purchased 100,000 tons of milling wheat at a price of 274.69 – 278.25 USD/ton C&F and 50,000 tons of feed barley at a price of 219.69 – 224.49 USD/ton C&F, with delivery within October to November.
