Grain Highlights 21.07.2022

Rusagrotrans raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia in 2022 by 2.6 million tons to a new record of 92.7 million tons.

- On 20.07.2022, a Ukrainian barge with Ukrainian sunseed destined for a Bulgarian processing company arrived in the Bulgarian port of Varna.

- Russian farmers harvested 30 million tons of grain at an average yield of 4.17 tons/hectare (3.33 a year earlier). Harvested wheat was 25.3 million tons, and harvested barley reached 3.9 million tons.

- SovEcon predicts a wheat production in Russia in 2022 of 90.9 million tons (89.2 in the previous estimate). In July, the export of wheat was relatively weak (2.6 million tons). The current estimate for wheat exports in 2022/23 is 42.6 million tons.

- Rusagrotrans raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia in 2022 by 2.6 million tons to a new record of 92.7 million tons. The total grain production is projected at 141 million tons (138.6).

- In 2021/22, soybean imports into China reached 90 million tons, which is 2 million tons below forecasts. Soybean processing in the country decreased by 2 million tons to 87 million tons. In 2022/23, supplies also fall by 1 million tons to 98 million tons.

- According to SEA data, 431,840 tons of oilmeal were exported from India in June (203,870 a year earlier). 308,550 tons of rapeseed meal and 32,190 tons of soymeal were exported. Over the period of April - June, the export was 1 million tons (735,890).

- Pakistan has bought 300,000 tons of wheat at USD 404.86/ton C&F and delivery in September.

- Bangladesh has purchased 50,000 tons of wheat of any origin at a price of 448.38 USD/ton C&F.
