SovEcon has raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia in 2022 by 3.55 million tons to a total of 84.8 million tons.

- SovEcon has raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia in 2022 by 3.55 million tons to a total of 84.8 million tons. The change was made mainly due to the good condition of crops and the good soil moisture. In 2021, the wheat production was 76 million tons and back in 2019 it reached 85.9 million tons.

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 8,000 contracts of soybeans and net buyers of 4,000 contracts of corn and 1,500 contracts of wheat.

- According to AgRural data, as of 13.02.2022, 24% of the soybean areas have been harvested in Brazil (+8% a week and 9% a year earlier). 42% of the planned areas have been sown with the second corn crop (+18% for the week and 11% a year earlier). The forecast for the soybean production is 128.5 million tons. The estimate for the total corn production reaches 110.9 million tons.

- Algeria has announced a tender for the import of at least 50,000 tons of milling wheat with delivery in April.

- Tunisia has announced a tender for the purchase of 255,000 tons of feed barley of any origin and delivery in March.

- Turkey has announced a tender for the purchase of 255,000 tons of feed barley with delivery in March. 245,000 tons of barley were purchased at the previous tender.

- Egypt's state-owned company, GASC, has announced a tender for the purchase of vegetable oils with delivery in April.

- According to SEA data, India imported 1.25 million tons of vegetable oils in January (1.21 in December and 1.07 in January 2021). Imports of unrefined palm oil reached 407,600 tons (528,100 and 787,600) and imports of refined palm oil were 134,200 tons (24,000 and 2,700). Soyoil imports reached 391,100 tons (392,400 and 88,600) and sunseed oil imports were 307,600 tons (258,400 and 205,200). Over the period of November - January, oil imports in the country were 3.67 million tons (3.55), including unrefined palm oil imports of 1.4 million tons, soyoil imports of 1.25 million tons, sunseed oil improts of 691,100 tons and refined palm oil imports of 216,500 tons.

- The Government of India has reduced the import tax on unrefined palm oil from 7.5% to 5% with effect from 12.02.2022.

- According to the Iranian Association of Vegetable Oil Producers, the annual production of oilseeds in the country is 430,000 tons and imports reach 2.23 million tons. The capacity of the oil plants in the country is for annual processing of 5.8 million tons of oilseeds.
