- Over the period of July - November 2021/22, grain exports from Ukraine reached a total of 26.2 million tons (21.6 years earlier). In August, exports were 5.7 million tons (+7%). Exports in October were 5.1 million tons (+ 13%) and exports in November reached 6.7 million tons (+44%). The share of wheat in exports was 56%. The share of corn exports was 23% and the share of barley exports was 18%.
- Coceral forecasts that the grain production in the EU+UK will be 304.5 million tons in 2022 (307.6 million tons in 2021). The wheat production (excluding durum) is projected to reach 139.8 million tons (-3.4). The barley production is estimated at 59 million tons (59.4) and corn production is expected to reach 66.4 million tons (66.3). Oilseed production will reach 20 million tons (18.5).
- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 6,500 contracts of corn and 12,000 contracts of soybeans and net buyers of 3,000 contracts of wheat.
- Iran has announced a tender for the purchase of 180,000 tons of wheat with delivery within January - February 2022. The country needs to import 8 million tons of wheat due to the worst drought that the country has been through in the last 50 years.
- According to SEA, imports of vegetable oils in India reached 1.173 million tons in November (1.106 in October and 1.102 in November 2020). Soyoil imports were 474,100 tons (217,000 and 250,000).
- Turkey has announced a tender for the purchase of 320,000 tons of wheat of any origin and delivery in February.
- Algeria maintains reduced requirements for wheat imports. The percentage of damaged seeds by insects in the purchased wheat can reach 1%, thus allowing Russia to participate in the tenders. Traditionally, the suppliers are France and Germany.
- In the December report, USDA analysts expect world production of vegetable oils to reach 214.97 million tons in 2021/22 (+0.18 million tons compared to November and +8.52 million tons compared to 2020/21). Vegoil consumption estimate decreased to 211.15 million tons (-0.64 and +5.41). World's total imports of oils will be 86.52 million tons (-0.29 and 81.38), including oil imports in India of 14.894 million tons (-0.35 and 13.8) and oil imports in China of 16.4 million tons (unchanged and 19). The world's ending oil stocks will be 23.98 million tons (-0.03 and 24.79).
