According to Deral, the harvesting campaign of the second corn crop has started in the Brazilian state of Paraná.

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 2,500 contracts of corn and 11,000 contracts of soybeans and net buyers of 1,000 contracts of wheat.

- According to Deral, the corn harvesting campaign has started in the Brazilian state of Paraná. 1% of the areas have already been harvested. In the western and eastern parts of the state, yield losses will reach 30%, while in the east corn yields will be satisfactory. Corn yields are also expected to decline in Mato Grosso. Both states are the largest corn producers in Brazil.

- Unexpectedly, Turkey has announced a tender for the purchase of 395,000 tons of wheat with delivery within 07/19 - 08/21/2021 and 320,000 tons of feed barley with delivery within 07/07 - 07/18/2021.

- Algeria has refused to receive a batch of 27,000 tons of French wheat due to poor quality. Last week, a batch of 33,000 tons of Canadian wheat was refused for the same reasons.

- The Government of India has not reduced import duties on vegetable oils. The opinion is that so far this is not a rational solution. The duty on palm oil is 32.5% and on soybean and sunflower oil 35%.

- The Government of Pakistan has approved the import of 3 million tons of wheat in 2021/22, despite the growth of the domestic wheat production by 1.7% to 26.04 million tons.

- According to data from the APC - Inform, 296,500 tons of oilseeds were exported from Russian ports in May (360,200 tons in April). Exports of sunseed and sunseed products were 162,000 tons.

- According to Oil World, soyoil exports from the four largest exporters fell to 910,000 tons in May (950,000 tons in April), including:

  • Argentina - 632,000 tons (642,000)
  • Brazil - 187,000 tons (209,000)
  • the United States - 40,000 tons (60,000)
  • Ukraine - 51,000 tons (39,000)

The largest importers were:

  • India - 336,000 tons (282,000)
  • Iran - 67,000 tons (27,000)
  • Iraq - 31,000 tons
  • China - 181,000 tons (236,000)
  • Bangladesh - 45,000 tons (86,000)
  • Egypt - 25,000 tons (76,000)

Over the period of October - May, soyoil exports reached 5.9 million tons (5.3).
